Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised massage therapy. It is a light stroking massage technique to assist with lymphatic drainage and hence, is one of the treatment options to help with swelling. This may be applied in the face, neck or any part of the body.

Our clinician is certified as a MLD Advanced Practitioner with several schools of thought. These are Dr Vodder (Austria), Foeldi (Germany) and Lymphoedema Training Academy (UK) techniques.

Results of Successful MLD

This is a case of persistent facial swelling (side of face and eye) after a surgical procedure 2 years ago. After a few sessions of MLD and other strategies including use of latest equipment, the swelling has reduced. The area is has softened, is less itchy and less dry (less lines!).

Please note that treatments used and results will vary depending on the individual.
